Here is Zef with his bamboo money box, the kind you can't take money out of until it is FULL! I don't know what the characters say on it... will have to ask someone! He is holding a red envelope that he got for Chinese New Year (I have been meaning to post this for ages, was in Feb!) The envelope is red, an auspicious colour for the Chinese people. Usually kids get given money from parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and other special people in their lives. Evie and Zef both got a small amount from Candy, our pastor's wife. They also had another lady we don't know very well give them one, as well as our lovely neighbour who works at the same school as Dan as a teacher aide. It is called Hong Bau and there are certain amounts of notes and amounts that are to be used. Like, the notes need to be new and an even number...
